Girls in Film represents, champions and connects the new generation of female, trans* and non-binary creatives in the film industry. Originally founded in London, Girls in Film operates an online platform publishing new work of upcoming filmmakers, organises screenings, panel talks and networking events. The Prague outpost has been active since 2017, headed by producers Julie Zackova and Dagmar Sedlackova and focuses on presenting, as well as connecting local filmmakers and cooperating with institutions and festivals to generate more diversity in the Czech and Slovak film industry.

Julie Žáčková
a film producer and talent agent under her brand NOCHI. She has more than 10 years of experience of working in the film industry and is a graduate of Prague’s FAMU producing department, English and American studies at Charles University, NYU Tisch School of the Arts and workshops like EAVE, Midpoint or Maia. Her first feature film “Occupation" premiered at Tallinn Black Nights and was awarded Best Film at Czech Film critics awards. Her second feature film “Promise, I’ll Be Fine” premiered at Tokyo IFF and went on to be presented at more than 10 festivals worldwide, including Shanghai, Peking, Karlovy Vary, Burgas or Giffoni. Julie is one of the co-founders of Girls in Film Prague platform aimed at promoting work of female/trans/nonbinary filmmakers. In her producing work, she concentrates on working with debuting and marginalised voices, specifically female directors. She is a voting member of the European Film Academy.
