The Warsaw Film School is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special program as part of Kino Susidiv and Kyiv International Short Film Festival. To mark the occasion, we are proud to present five outstanding short films created by our talented Ukrainian students.

Founded 20 years ago, the Warsaw Film School remains committed to its mission: creating opportunities for young voices and championing powerful storytelling. With two Oscar nominations, recognition both in Poland and internationally, and a reputation as one of Europe’s leading film schools, we are proud of what we have accomplished — and excited for what lies ahead.

PLANTAGO

A Ukrainian child Vania escapes from Russian occupants in order to not to be exported to Russia. He finds a girl that hides in an abandoned house. We vitness the relationship between Vania and Zlata and their attempts to survive together during the occupation.

The Russian invasion of the Ukrainian territories becomes the reason for a divorced pacifist father to meet his daughter, which eventually escalates into his daughter being kidnapped by the Russians. The father is willing to do anything to find his daughter.

A teenage boy and his mother are hiding during the war in an abandoned cellar. In a desperate attempt to save her he goes in search of water and medical supplies. His search places him in danger and forces him to face his fears.
